the current series.

Hard luck to
the Junior A footballers who were beaten by Bandon in the quarter-final in Barryroe on Sunday. Kilbrittain failed to fire on all cylinders and came up
against a Bandon side far superior on the day. While the first quarter hour saw both sides trade points and it looked like we might be treated to a tighter game, Bandon pulled away in the last ten minutes of the half scoring eight points to Kilbrittains one (on the stroke of half-time) to leave the scores Kilbrittain 0-3 Bandon 0-10 at half time. Kilbrittain did have a couple of goal chances during the half but failed to capitalise. The second half saw Bandon take off from where they stopped and with an early goal, went on to stamp their authority scoring freely from distance and all angles. In truth Kilbrittain didn't play to their full ability that has seen them top their section of the league, and the game was over as a contest before Bandon reduced to 14 men near the end gave away a penalty which was subsequently saved by the
impressive Bandon goalie.
Final score Kilbrittain 0-6 Bandon 1-17.

Hard luck to the U21 A hurlers who were narrowly beaten by Newcestown in a hard fought semi-final last Friday evening in windy Ahiohill. Kilbrittan aided by the strong wind in the first half never pulled away during that first half in which the wind was a factor. Newcestown made it hard for Kilbrittain and kept in touch with the half time score Kilbrittain 0-4 Newcestown 0-2
Kilbrittain started the stronger in the second half and while Newcestown clawed back a couple of points, a smashing Declan Harrington goal gave Kilbrittain breathing space and maintained their lead right up to the final minutes. It was in these final minutes that Newcestown levelled and went a head following three pointed frees from distance to win by 2. There  will be full report in the report section soon.

Congratulations to Club President Frank O'Brien who with his wife Peggy, celebrated forty years of marriage last weekend 11 august. We wish them many more years of happiness together.

Congratulations to club Vice-President Barry O'Sullivan who was honoured by the Kilbrittain Festival Committee at the 'This is your Life' occasion on Friday night last.
Barry played for many years and has served as a club officer in many positions down through the years.

Kilbrittain Premier Intermediate hurlers advanced to the quarter-final with a ground out victory over Valley Rovers on Sunday in Kinsale. Ahead 1-6 to 0-8 at half-time, the goal coming from Cian O'Leary in the 13th minute. This was to prove a crucial score as both teams struggled to find the target at various stages of the game. Valleys inability to convert was noticeable as they clocked up 14 wides in total with ten in the second half. Kilbrittain didn't point from play until Pat O'Mahony converted in the 18th minute. This added to a Jamie Wall free put Kilbrittain 1-8 to 0-9 up entering the last ten minutes. Wall pointed his 7th score, his first from play two minutes later from the tightest of angles following a crossfield sideline cut from David Desmond. Valleys clocked up 5 wides in the final ten minutes with the Kilbrittain backs performing heroics, before Maurice Sexton pointed in injury time to give Kilbrittain a three point cushion.
