Congratulations to the u15 hurlers who won their hurling championship beating Bride Rovers this afternoon in Nemo rangers grounds. Kilbrittain led at halftime 1-8 to 0-2. They ran out winners 2-15 to 2-2
Well done to all involved. Development Draw Date.
Due to the time consuming nature of covering as much area as possible with ticket sales, and with such a large area of ground to cover, the draw date has been postponed to ensure enough money can be collected to make the venture worthwhile. The club have obtained permission from an Garda Siochana (issuers of the permit) for an extension to the permit and so the draw will be held in early 2014 at a date yet to be decided. The club would like to thank everyone who has supported the draw thus far for their support. The death has occurred of Jimmy McCarthy, Farnagark. Jimmy was a member of the minor team of 1948/49 and the Junior hurling teams of the 1950's.

Cork Senior Football Manager Brian Cuthbert has confirmed his selectors, with Ronan McCarthy named as coach. He was manager of the Douglas Senior Football team that reached their first County Final in 2008, and has also been involved with the Cork Development Squads, and was a selector with former manager, Conor Counihan, for the past year. Owen Sexton (Kilbrittain) 38-year-old Owen was a member of the Cork Senior Football team from 1997 to 2008, and won an All-Ireland Minor medal in 1993, along with manager Brian Cuthbert. Owen also won a County Senior Football medal with Carbery in 2004. He has won two Junior B county medals with Kilbrittain in 1992 and 2009. He represented Ireland in the Compromise Rules series against Australia in 2000. Ciarán O'Sullivan (Urhan) Ciarán was a member of the Cork Senior Football team from 1993 to 2005, winning an All-Star award in 1999. He won a County Senior Football medal with Beara in 1997. He is currently heavily involved with coaching in Beara and particularly with his club Urhan, where he has guided an underage resurgence. Don Davis (O'Donovan Rossa). Don played Senior Football for Cork from 1993 to 2000, and won County, Munster and All-Ireland Club medals with his club in the 1992/93 season. He has been involved with coaching in his club for a number of years. Kilbrittain 0-14 O'Donovan Rossa 1-12. 'We were robbed!' was on expression following this west cork final replay in Rosscarbery on Sunday. A great game of hurling saw Kilbrittain pipped at the post following a controversial last minute free which yielded a goal and the winning score, for O'Donovan Rossa. Kilbrittain deserved to win this game following a great display during the second half that saw them ahead by five points at one stage. Leading by by a point with time up, O'Donovan Rossa had a chance that was cleared. Kilbrittain attacked and won a free which the excellent Edward Sheehy converted to put 2 between the sides again in the third minute of injury time. Everyone expected the final whistle but it was another minute and a half before the Skibb side won a dubious free and stole the game from a bitterly disappointed and annoyed Kilbrittain. Full report will appear in the report section. http://www.gaacork.ie/taggedNews/284430/99/g_a_a_season_ticket2014
