The Junior football league sec 3 game against Bantry, now on in Harbour View has a new starting time of 4:30pm. Please note the change of time!
The draws for the 2015 Junior 'B' Hurling and Football Championships were made at the County Board meeting on Tuesday night last.

The Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee in conjunction with a working group comprising of Dr. Pat O’Neill, Prof. Niall Moyna, Dr. Pat Duggan, Dr. Kieran Moran, John C. Murphy, Dr. Catherine Blake, and Edwenia O’Malley have developed the GAA 15, a standardised warm-up programme aimed at reducing the number of injuries sustained by GAA players. Bandon defeated Newcestown on Tuesday night last to reach the final of the Micheal Holland cup where they will meet Kilbrittain. The final is fixed for St Patricks day in Kilbrittain. Time to be confirmed.

During the month of March, a series of meetings will take place across the eight divisions, to discuss coaching structures and to outline the Rebel Óg Coaching Benchmarks 2020 which provide a template for ‘best practice’ in underage coaching in clubs over the next five years.Click the above link for more details. There was no winner of the €14,700 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 1, 13, 16, 17. €40 winners were Margo Crowley, Marie Hickey, Nellie Moloney, Imelda O'Mahony, Con McCarthy. Jackpot for this weekend will be €14,800 and the draw takes place in The Kilbrittain Inn.
A raffle held on Saturday night during the Club Social raised €1,015 for 'The friends of Jamie Wall' fund. The raffle prize winners were 1st Con Healy, 2nd Mary Burke, 3rd Denis Ryan. The club would like to thank Dan O'Connell Owen Sexton and Paddy Ryan for the kind donation of prizes!
Dan donated a 'blood stained' cork jersey worn by himself during his cork playing days and Owen donated a 'Hamilton High school' jersey worn by himself during his successful playing days with the school. Both 'historical' items! Paddy donated a new pair of Mikasa football gloves! On Saturday evening last the 2014 west cork winning U21 C footballers were presented with their medals at the 'Club Social' in The Amber Bar by cork senior footballer Daniel Goulding. A large crowd of supporters and ex players/patriots had gathered for the occasion and an enjoyable night was had by all.
Following the presentation of medals, special presentations were made to the U21 football management team and also the minor hurlers who represented the club on the Carbery premier 2 hurling county winning team. To finish off the formalities, presentations were made to Ross Cashman and Jamie Wall on representing the club with the Cork Intermediate hurlers during 2014. Chairman Kevin Kingston then made a special presentation to Jamie of the new club jersey. Following all the important duties, the assembled crowd were treated to a special showing of the previously unseen 1993 West Cork/county Junior 'A' football final Kilbrittain v Dohenys. This proved to be very entertaining especially as a number of players from the 1993 team were present ! |
