The €30 winners were Mgt Collins, Michelle Dollard, Pat Murphy, ET/KON, Philip Bennis. The Jackpot for next weekend will be €11,200 and the draw takes place in The Amber Bar on Monday 28th Kilbrittain intermediate hurlers retain Intermediate status for 2020 despite a one point loss to Ballinhassig on Saturday last. 4-8 to 2-13. Following 3 first half goals, Ballinhassig led by 5 points at half time and needing 11 to stay up, looked to be halfway there. Kilbrittain dug deep in the second half though and did just about enough to survive. Ther was no celebration at the end though as Kilbrittain realised they were grateful of the previous weeks score tally against Na Piarsaigh.
A big improvement will be needed next year and in 2022 as all but the county winners will be regraded to Junior following that years championship. At the moment though, Kilbrittain can breathe a sigh of relief. Well done for the effort to keep our status. Onwards and upwards from here! The final Lip Sync fundraisers will take place over the weekend of 26th-27th October. The Historical group will hold a Car Treasure Hunt and The U21 Group will hold a Leg Shave event. More details if times etc will follow.
The reaction and support to all the mini fundraisers so far has been fantastic and we hope that these will be equally supported over the bank holiday weekend. The final game in this years championship relegation playoff, Kilbrittain v Ballinhassig, takes place this Saturday 19th October in Ballinspittle at 3:30pm. Having beaten Na Pairsaigh last week, Kilbrittain need to beat Ballinhassig to secure Intermediate hurling status for 2020. They are in the driving seat with a positive scoring difference but cannot get complacent or overlook the fact that Ballinhassig will be all out to win this game.
Best of luck to all concerned. Ar Aghaigh Le Cheile The Lotto Jackpot of €10,800 was not won. The numbers drawn were 2, 22, 26, 32. On Saturday night the Camoige group held their fundraiser for KilbrittaiN SYNC in association with Kevin O'Leary MAZDA, which is fast approaching, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November in Bandon GAA Pavillion.
On Saturday night, they held a 'Crazy Bingo' night in The Kilbrittain Inn. While some had an idea what Bingo itself entails, others had to be shown how to play, but this particular Bingo had a difference, with prizes of a much more diverse nature let it be said! Also if two people shared a 'line' or 'house' then a competition to find a winner was held with dance-off's, 'dressing up' or 'dressing down' all part of the fun. It was a great night of entertainment with the large crowd really getting involved as the night wore on. Well done to all involved. |
