1946
Following the enforced sabbatical during 1944 and 1945, some dedicated individuals from the parish set about reforming the club once again in 1946. Most notable was Dan Harrington, Jimmy Browne and Donal Roche amongst others. To raise funds to get the club up and running, they cut out and made up tickets for a raffle which they held to generate revenue to afford hurleys and sliothars!
In March they entered a seven-a-side hurling tournament at Lislevane. Six teams entered and Clonakilty beat Kilbrittain before beating Barryroe in the semi-final and Ballinscarthy in the final.
In the championship, Kilbrittain defeated Ballinspittle on 26th may in Ballinadee. This was the last time Ballinspittle competed in the grade as they amalgamated with Ballinadee to form Courcey Rovers for the following year's championship.
In June, Kilbrittain defeated Kilmeen in the 'B' football championship and were then beaten themselves in July by Ahiohill on a scoreline of Ahiohill 2-5 Kilbrittain 1-1.
At the end of July Kilbrittain defeated Carbery Rangers in the hurling championship semi-final. On the 25th August at 'The Bogs' in Bandon, Kilbrittain defeated St. Marys in the South West Junior 'B' hurling final, Kilbrittain 6-3 to St. Marys 1-1.
