With the playing season starting, (Junior B football league this weekend- see fixture section), players are reminded to pay their membership to be covered by the insurance scheme.
Player membership is €70 and can be paid to club officers or specifically, Denis Ryan, Marion Twohig and Sharon McSweeney. Have a little pride in your club, pay your membership. Ar aghaidh le cheile. In last weekends lotto draw, the numbers drawn were 16, 17, 19, 22. There was no winner.
€40 winners were Josephine & Jerry, Noel & Stephane Butler, Marie Hickey, Bill & Betty Wafer, 0872776581. The jackpot for next weekend will be €4,900. Ar aghaidh le cheile! Congratulations to Owen and Lisa Sexton on the recent birth of their second daughter Faye Elizabeth.
The club are hosting a Dinner Dance / Social in The Pink Elephant on Saturday 12th March. Local duo, The McCarthy sisters, will provide the music and all procceds from the night will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis association. Tickets are €30 and will have to be booked from Marion Twohig in good time as numbers will be limited.
Ar aighaidh le cheile. The club is represented on the Historical society sub committee charged with organising a suitable commemoration of the 1916 Rising. The historical society have brought together representatives of many clubs of the parish with a view to commemorate the occasion and the planned event is progressing nicely.
More details to follow in the coming weeks. The transfer of Padraig Brennan to Kilbrittain GAA club has been sanctioned at the recent CCC meeting of the Cork County Board. Padraig who is living in Clashreagh, is the son of Peter Brennan ex Kilbrittain, now in Ballinhassig. We welcome Padraig to the club and wish him many successfull years of involvement.
There was no winner of last weekend's €4,700 lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 7, 12, 17, 25. €40 winners were Peadar Murphy, Marion O'Mahony, Finbar O'Brien, Alan & Hitomi Healy, S & N. The jackpot for this weekend will be €4,800.
