KilbrittaiN SYNC in association with Kevin O’Leary MAZDA took place last weekend in Bandon GAA pavilion. Held over two nights, the event was a roaring success. Patrons were treated to two nights full of great performances, comedy, drama and a little controversy! The first night set the tone for the weekend with all twelve acts taking to the stage, many for the first time ever. And what a show they produced. From start to finish, the standard was extremely high with some stand out moments including the opening group act ‘The Greatest Showman’ to the Soccer club’s version of Miley Cyrus’s ‘Wrecking Ball’, The u21’s ‘Full Monty’, The Under-age ‘Three Tenors’ and The Blow In’s ‘Sister Act’. Camoige Under-age version of Queen hits, won out with a 10/10 performance on Friday night, while Wrecking Ball brought the house down on Saturday night.. The best two nights out in a long time. The u21 A hurlers will narrowly beaten by Newcestown in the West Cork final played in Enniskeane on Sunday. Kilbrittain raced into an 8 point lead at half time with goals from Bertie Butler and Philip Wall helping to make it 2-9 to 0-7 at halftime. Newcestown thundered into the second half and by virtue of several scoreable frees, clawed back the lead to make for an exciting final few minutes where the lead changed hands. A Mark Hickey point in injury time put Kilbrittain ahead but the resultant puckout ended up as a point for Necestown, 2-15 to 1-18 and the game entered extra time. In worsening wet conditions and fading light, Necestown made all the running in the first half of extra time adding four points to Kilbrittains two and they kept ahead to win by three, 1-25 to 2-19.
