The second round of the Intermediate hurling championship was held in Bandon last Friday evening. Kilbrittain met Ballygarvan in a repeat of the 2010 final. Kilbrittain's 2 goals just before halftime from Philip Wall and Maurice Sexton proved vital as Kilbrittain weathered a Ballygarvan second half comeback to win 2-15 to 0-16.
On Sunday afternoon the Junior A footballers travelled to Ballinacarriga to meet St Colums in the second round of the championship. Unfair to expect the club to perform two days since the hurling game on Friday night but the WCB and St Colums were not for changing. Up against it from all angles, Kilbrittain performed admirably and kept going until the end. " first half goals from Philip Wall and a bullet from David Desmond helped Kilbrittain stay in touch at halftime 2-2 to 1-6. St Colums stretched their lead during the second half and ran out 7 point winners 3-12 to 3-5. Tomas Sheehan with Kilbrittains third goal from a penalty near the end.

The June draw of the county clubs draw was held recently in the community hall. It was an opportunity for people to see how the draw operates. A large crowd gathered and was noticed and acknowledged by the organisers. The biggest cheer of the night welcomed the winner of €150 in the divisional draw section. Maurice Sexton senior was the local winner.
