The Annual Puc Fada, back from it's summer holiday!, will take place on St Stephens Day morning (weather permitting). Sign in will be from 10;30 to 12 noon. All proceeds wil be donated to Bandon Community Hospital. All the usual categories will be in place, U16, 16 to 40, Over 40 and Ladies. The usual route will be taken, starting at the cross at Crowleys Garage (Sands Cross), Pucking up the hill around the bend at Dan Collins's and around the bend at Pat Deasy's. Turning right at the next junction and continuing straight until the road turns right, continuing down the hill opposite the castle where it turns right again at the castle gates and follows the road back to the start. All are welcome, bring your own hurley, Keep the ball on the road, wear suitable clothing/footwear, respect private property, enjoy the morning.

The DVD of the Clash Without the Ash is near completion. Orders are being taken (They will not be for general sale.) To order your DVD wihich will include behind the scenes training, Radio interview, the 10 fights and more, text or contact Oliver O'Brien at 0863855059. DVD's will be €15, if you intend to send it to family or friends abroad, please indicate which country, as the formatting of the DVD will be different for different countiries.
Re-live the excitement of the night. The lotto Jackpot of €9,200 was not won. The numbers drawn were 1, 19, 25, 29. There were ten €40 winners: Frank Kearney, Denis Healy, Et/KON & Gang, Pat & Kathleen Hayes, 0872776587, Tom O'Donoghue, Olan Hallissey, Agnes O'Brien, Joan Sexton, Nina & Aya Healy.
The jackpot for the next draw will be €9,300 and the draw will take place in The Amber Bar on Wednesday 28th December. The Jackpot for last weekend was €9,100. The numbers drawn were 5, 21, 22, 26. There was no winner.
€40 winners were Jo O'Connell, Martina O'Mahony, Kevin & Francis, Ultan Coughlan, Vera Neoralova jackpot for next weekend will be €9,200 and the draw takes place in The Amber Bar. There will be five extra consolation prizes drawn. The Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday night last in the community hall. A large crowd gathered and a good discussion was had on a number of topics ranging from activity on the playing field to fundraising. The detailed secretary report outlined the activities both on and off the field during the year culminating in the Junior B football county victory and the 'Clash of the Ash' fundraiser between Kilbrittain and Courcey Rovers in recent weeks. The treasurers report followed and outlined the importance of continued fundraising to help in the costs of the new development. It was explained that the club needs to continue a regular major fundraiser for the next few years to enable the development to proceed as planned. The Chairman congratulated all involved with the Junior B footballers and commended the minor hurling team on their success. He was loud in praise for the committee that organized 'The Clash without the Ash' and again urged members to support all fundraising efforts in order to bring the new development to fruition. At the election of officers, all sitting officers were returned with Barry O'Sullivan taking the position of President following John Madden who said he had been honored to hold the position for the last two years. Barry has had a life long association with the club as a player, coach and officer at various stages. He was Chairman from 1963 to '69 and also in 1981, Secretary in 1971, Vice Chairman in 1975. He was a delegate to the west cork board for a number of years from 1962 to 1974. He has held the position of vice president since 2007. He has also given huge commitment to the Camoige club for many years both as an officer, PRO and Secretary, and coach.
A long debate was held on whether to enter a third adult hurling team. It was decided to enter the team again for 2017 with certain conditions attached. All members were encouraged to continue to support the lotto (currently at €9,100), the county clubs draw, the National draw which will be rolled out early in the new year and to pay membership within the required timeframe. The deadline for membership being the 31st March 2017, with players expected to pay before games commence. Membership was kept at €70 for players and €50 for non playing members. The meeting was told the victory dinner dance will be held in Fernhill House hotel on March 4th. The Annual General meeting will be held tomorrow night (Wednesday 7th) at the changed time of 8:30pm in the community hall.
All are welcome! 'A great night lastnight' was the main reaction following the Cash without the Ash last night. Well done to all the boxers who really got stuck into the task at hand. Ye did ye'r parishes and clubs proud, no matter the result of each fight. Thanks to Paudie Palmer, and Dj Deccie.
