Best of luck to the U21 C footballers who meet St James in the Final on Sunday morning next at 12:00 in Ballinascarthy.
A successful championship campaign has seen them beat St Oliver Plunkets, Glengarriffe, St Colums, all in group 2 and St Marys in the semi-final on the way to Sunday's final. The Junior A footballers were terribly unlucky not to come home from Castlehaven with a notable victory over St Colums in the first round of the championship this afternoon. Down 1-2 to 0-8 at half time, A hugely positive first 12-13 minutes of the second half saw Kilbrittain take the lead 2-3 to 0-8 but then St Colums came thundering into the game and dominated the following 15 minutes, registering 4 points to regain the lead. In an exciting final few minutes, Kilbrittain managed to claw back the lead with two points but time ran out for the lads. See the Match report section for a full report.
Final score Kilbrittain 2-5 St Colums 0-12 The Junior A football championship v St Colums goes ahead on tomorrow Sunday 27th at 1pm in Castlehaven.
Best of luck to all involved. The Junior A football championship v St Colums has been postponed due to a closed pitch in Newcestown.
The game is now going ahead on tomorrow SUNDAY 27th at 1pm in Castlehaven. Please take note! Best of luck to the junior A footballers who face the reigning champions St Colums, in the first round of the championship tonight in Newcestown at 7pm. What is surely an uphill battle for Kilbrittain, they will go into the match as underdogs with all to play for, and nothing to lose!
Having beaten Castlehaven and Muintir Bhaire in the championship 2013, Kilbrittain met an in form Bandon in the quarter-final. Bandon were far superior on the day and Kilbrittain were well beaten. The hurt from last year should help Kilbrittain to push for a better campaign this year and with relegation in place this year, every championship game is important to avoid the drop in grade for 2015 http://www.gaacork.ie/news/313889/Munster_SHC_Cork_v_Waterford_Tickets_on_Sale_NOW
