The second round of the Intermediate hurling championship was held in Bandon last Friday evening. Kilbrittain met Ballygarvan in a repeat of the 2010 final. Kilbrittain's 2 goals just before halftime from Philip Wall and Maurice Sexton proved vital as Kilbrittain weathered a Ballygarvan second half comeback to win 2-15 to 0-16.
