Kilbrittain intermediate hurlers got their league campaign off the a shaky start with a defeat to Carrigaline earlier today. Kilbrittain lead early on 1-4 to no score but it was 1-7 to 0-5 at half time. Carrigaline got a dream re-start with a goal within thirty seconds. They scored five more points to Kilbrittains two before Alan Hayes finished a good move for Kilbrittains second goal to make it 2-9 to 1-10. Both side swapped four points each before a scrappy second goal for Carrigaline put them ahead by one. They kept that lead and finished strong with four more points to Kilbrittains one to win on a 2-18 to 2-14 scoreline.
Kilbrittain lost Declan Harrington to injury just before halftime. An injury that required Declan to be taken by ambulance to hospital as a precaution. We wish Declan a speedy recovery.
