Waterford IT won their first Fitzgibbon Cup title since 2008, and their seventh since 1999, with a deserved five-point victory over Cork IT in the final at the Dub in Queens on Saturday evening. The U21 C footballers got new Chairman Kevin Kingston's reign off to a winning start with an emphatic win over a weak Glengarriffe side. Winning well at half time 5-4 to 2-2 Kilbrittain went on the rampage in the second half to finish 7-17 to 3-2.
Group 2 consists of Kilbrittain, Glengarriffe, St Colums and St Oliver Plunketts. The top two teams in the group qualify for the semi-finals. |
