Well done to the U21 footballers on a hard fought win over Bantry in the quarter final of the Glenville tournament. Kilbrittain won by a point following extra-time. Kilbrittain had a good start and were 1-3 to 0-1 after a quarter hour playing against the wind and fall. Bantry then took over the rest of the first half and halftime score was Kilbrittain 1-4 Bantry 1-6. Kilbrittain playing with the wind and fall took eleven minutes to score in the second half by which time Bantry had two. Kilbrittain dominated the remainder of the half as the wind strenghtened, but were guilty of some bad wides. However they kept the pressure on and levelled matters with ten minutes to go. It ended 1-8 each and twenty minutes of extra time had to be played. Again against the fall and wind, Kilbrittain dominated the first half and scoring three points, took that lead into halftime. Bantry really tested the Kilbrittain backs in the second period of ten minutes but scoring two points, failed to find an equaliser despite the four minutes of added time played at the end.
