A cracking goal from Pat O'Mahony half way through the first half helped Kilbrittain to a halftime four point lead in the first round/quarter-final of the 2013 Micheal Holland cup played in Harbourview yesterday afternoon. Argideen opened the scoring with a point in the first minute. A Maurice Sexton pointed free opened the scoring for Kilbrittain closley followed by a fine point from Tomas Harrington. Argideen scored the next two to regain the lead before Ross Cashman equalised in the tenth minute. Argideen pointed a free almost immediately. The aforementioned Pat O'Mahony then goaled in the seventeenth minute to give Kilbrittain a lead they held to the break. Argideen were next to score before a purple patch from Kilbrittain saw Sexton score three points from frees and Cashman pointing before halftime. Argideen did have time for a point to leave the halftime score Kilbrittain 1-07 Argideen Rangers 0-6

In a frenetic few minutes, Sexton added a point from play, O'Mahony blasted wide from close range and at the other side Robert Hayes brought off a point blank save which resulted in a '65 which Argideen duly converted. They added a point moments later to reduce the deficit to two. Minutes later they regained the lead with a goal folowing a free dropped into the Kilbrittain danger area. Ross Cashman levelled matters a few minutes later with a free. Both sides swapped frees with six minutes left, Cashman doing the honours for Kilbrittain. Cian O'Leary pointed before Argideen had their last score of the game with four minutes left. This levelled the game again but Kilbrittain finished strong and two points from Tomas Harrington ended the scoring in a fine competitive sporting game. Final score Kilbrittain 1-14 Argideen Rangers 1-12. Kilbrittain now meet the winners of Barryroe and Clonakilty in the semi-fianl.
