A plaque commemorating Kilbrittain native Mr. J.J. Walsh will also be unveiled. Mr Walsh was a former chairman of Cork County board from 1909 to 1914. As a volunteer he was present at the GPO reporting to James Connolly during the Rising. He became the first minister for Posts and Telegraphs in the government from 1922 to 1927.
The garden will be opened by Mr Walsh's neice Sr. Cora Richardson.
All members of the club are encouraged to show their support for the event.
