Players are reminded that since the first January, all under-age players who play football, are required to wear gumshields. Adequate mouthgaurds/gumshields must be worn by all minor players and downwards if they wish to play football, and this includes wearing them at training . If they are not worn, the player will not be covered through the injury scheme in the event of a facial or head injury. Gumshields can be purchased through, Supervalu, Centra, Lifestyle sports, Elverys and O'Neills.
Players of all ages must wear gumshields for football from January 1st 2014, so it would be a good idea to start wearing them for football this year to get used to them.
