The news follows recent retirements of Noel O'Leary, Graham Canty and Paudie Kissane. There will be a short meeting concerning Scor for the coming few months, next Monday 11th November in the community hall at 8pm. All are welcome, especially parents of those interested in Scor na bPaisti which will be starting shortly.
The first night of Scor na nOg competition will be held in Rossmore on 22november at 7pm. Well done to the U15 hurlers who have reached the County final courtesy of a comprehensive win over Buttevant on Sunday. They won 8-15 to 0-8, with Ciaran Byrne scoring a whopping 3-11.
They now meet Bride Rovers (who they previously beat in the East final) in the County Final with the date yet to be fixed. Well done to the U12 footballers who won the league beating Kilmeen 1-6 to 0-4. This completed a league double having won the hurling league previously. The first draws of the new series of the County Board GAA clubs draw was held recently. Both the September and October draws were held together.
Kilbrittain had two winners! Fergal Keohane and Kevin Harrington both won €100 vouchers. Well done to both and best of luck to everyone for the remainder of the series. Well done to the Intermediate hurlers who won the Micheal Holland cup beating Bandon 4-12 to 0-16 in wet and windy Kilbrittain. Bandon playing with the elements lead at halftime 0-10 to 1-4. Declan Harrington getting the goal on the stroke of halftime. Declan goaled again seconds into the re-start and this put the sides level for the first time. Kilbrittain kicked on playing with the wind and lead for most of the second half. Bandon levelled the game within the last ten minutes but as the rain returned, Kilbrittain got their third goal from Jamie Wall to regain the initiative and as the game entered injury time Declan Harrington scored his third goal to seal the deal. Captain for the day Vincent O'Brien accepted the Micheal Holland cup from Aaron Holland in the presence of John Corcoran west cork board chairman. Long-serving Cork captain and three-time All-Star defender Graham Canty announced his retirement in The Irish Examiner on Saturday. The talismanic Bantry Blues man led the Rebel County to All-Ireland glory in 2010, and has been
