Kilbrittain continued their preparations for this game with a league game over Garnish over the weekend. Kilbrittain won 1-12 to 2-6. Kilbrittain Junior B footballers will meet Kilmeen in the county semi-final following Kilmeen's big win over Whitechurch this evening. Kilmeen 3-13 Whitechurch 0-4.
It is likely that the semi-final will be around the 18th July, but the date will be confirmed during next week. Kilbrittain were drawn against Charleville in the quarter-final of the championship in last nights 'fourth round' draws. Both teams were first out of the hat thus gaining the bye to the quarter-final. The rest of the draw is as follows.
4th round A. Ballincollig v Aghabullogue/ArgideenRangers B. Aghada v Castlemartyr C. Dripsey v Grenagh D. Kildorrery v Éire Óg E. Meelin v Fr O’Neills F. Milford v Ballygarvan G. Charleville H. Kilbrittain. Quarter-final A v B C v D E v F G v H The Junior A hurlers made their exit from the championship at the hands of St Oliver Plunkets last Sunday afternoon in Ballinascarthy. Kilbrittain never got out of the blocks in the first half and took all of 25 minutes to register their first score, a point from an Eamon Lyons free. The half time score read St Oliver Plunkets 1-8 Kilbrittain 0-1. In fairness to the lads, the second half performance was a huge improvement, but the damage had been done and Plunkets won on a 2-12 to 1-5 scoreline. Kilbrittain's goal coming from Eamon Lyons. In all, it was a learning experience for the younger players as it was the first taste of knockout adult championship for a number of them. The experience will stand to them though.
