Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore visited Páirc Uí Chaoimh on May 16th to mark the announcement of €30m in funding for the re-development of the stadium which formed part of the Government's recent €200m stimulus package.

Manchester City are the premiership champions for 2014. On the final day of the season, Liverpool were still hoping Manchester City would lose and if they would win, they would lift the title. it was not to be as Manchester City beat West Ham 2-0. while Liverpool beat Newcastle 2-1 to finish second on the table.
Anyone who picked Manchester City earns 10 points Norwich Fulham and Cardiff were the three relegated teams. Anyone who correctly picked all three will earn 10 points, two out of the three earns 4 points and picking just one of the three earns 2 points. With only one more league game to go before championship, Kilbrittain had a four point win over neighbours Argideen Rangers in Clonakilty this morning in section 2 of the Intermediate hurling league. Final score there was Kilbrittain 4-15 Argideen rangers 2-17.
Elsewhere, the non exam hurlers were beaten by Grenagh 4-12 to 5-5 on Saturday evening. and on Friday night, the Junior A hurlers recorded a good four point win over St Marys Kilbrittain 2-11 St Marys 0-13. Well done to the U21 C footballers and their mentors on a great win in the final of the West Cork championship. They beat St James earlier today on a scoreline of Kilbrittain 3-12 St James 1-7. There will be a victory parade through the village from 6:30 pm with players assembling at the church cross!. Full match report in the 'Report' section in due course. |
